Second Restoration

The second restoration on this '69 Camaro took place in Lake Forest, California, and included a change of wheels and tires, electrical, and interior modifications. The project began in October of 2008 and was complete in March of 2009.

One of the most painful tasks to perform on a vehicle is rewiring and this car needed it bad! Some of the problems that led to the realization of the need of a new wiring harness were no working brake lights, blinkers, battery losing power, etc. To begin the project, the interior was taken out and every wire was removed. A Painless 18 curcuit harness was installed and after about 80 man hours all wires were connected and working.

Since the transmission had been blown out drag racing, a new TH400 transmission with a trans brake was installed. Mickey Thompson ET Street radials and Sportsman S/R tires were mounted onto Cragar wheels to help hook up the back and lessen the drag in the front.

After wiring was complete, the interior was reassembled with a customized version of the '69 Camaro dash and console gauge pod, complete with Auto Meter 5" and 2 1/16" Ultra-Lite gauges. A B&M Stealth shifter was added to accomidate the reverse shift pattern. A console arm rest, Grant GT steering wheel, and Scat ProCar seats were also added for extra comfort and appeal.
